DBSCAN — Density-Based Clustering
k-means asks how many clusters there are and finds exactly that many, all roughly spherical. DBSCAN asks neither — it finds continuous regions of high density, discovers the count itself, and labels what is left over as anomalies. The real algorithm runs live on two moons.

Two clusters, 0 anomalies — the two true moons, recovered without ever being told there were two. This is the regime Géron calls “perfect”, at ε around 0.2.
