Privacy Policy
Effective August 31, 2026
We collect the minimum needed to run an interactive learning platform: your account, your progress, and the work you save. We do not sell your data or run advertising trackers. This page explains the details in plain language.
1.Who we are
algorithms.live is an interactive learning platform for algorithms, system design, and AI engineering, operated by SyntaxReady. This policy explains what we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, and what control you have over it. It applies to algorithms.live and its subdomains.
2.Information we collect
We collect only what the platform needs in order to work.
Account information. When you create an account we store your email address. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your email address, name, and profile picture with us. We never receive your Google password.
Learning activity. Which visualizations you open and complete, your quiz answers and scores, and progress statistics such as experience points, level, daily streak, focus time, and badges earned. This is what powers your dashboard and the leaderboard.
Work you create. System design canvases you save, visualizations you generate, and any code you paste into the Code Visualizer so that it can be analysed and rendered.
AI assistant conversations. Messages you send to the in-app assistant are forwarded to Google to generate a reply. We store only a running count of how many messages you have sent each day, in order to enforce fair-use limits. We do not store the contents of those conversations.
Subscription and billing. If you subscribe, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We store your billing email, a Stripe customer reference, whether your subscription is active, and when it renews or ends. Card numbers never reach our servers.
Programs and hackathons. If you apply to a program, we store your application, assessment attempts and results, team membership, project submissions, and the scores judges give you. Organizers running that program can see this information.
Email preferences. Your notification settings and a log of transactional emails we have sent you, so that we can honour unsubscribes and diagnose delivery problems.
Usage analytics. We use Vercel Analytics, which reports aggregate page views and referrers. It does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you across websites.
3.What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information. We never have.
- We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking pixels.
- We do not store your card number, CVC, or bank details.
- We do not read or store your AI assistant conversation history.
4.How we use your information
- To create your account and keep you signed in.
- To save your progress and show your dashboard, streak, and badges.
- To rank participants on the leaderboard.
- To generate AI explanations and visualizations you ask for.
- To process subscriptions and give you access to paid features.
- To run programs and hackathons you choose to enter.
- To send transactional email such as password resets, application confirmations, and program results.
- To send the daily visualization email and occasional product email. These are on by default when you create an account; you can turn each of them off in Settings or unsubscribe from any message.
- To understand which parts of the platform are used, so we can improve them, and to detect abuse.
7.How long we keep it
We keep your account and learning data for as long as your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data and the work associated with it. Some records are kept longer where we are required to, such as payment records retained for tax and accounting purposes, and anonymised aggregate statistics that cannot be traced back to you.
8.Your choices and rights
You can, at any time:
- Access and correct your account details from your dashboard.
- Unsubscribe from non-essential email using the link in any message.
- Cancel your subscription from the billing portal.
- Request a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account and everything in it.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data, including the right to object to certain processing or to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these, email contact@syntaxready.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
9.Children and students
algorithms.live is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you are under 18, please review this policy with a parent or guardian before creating an account. Programs and hackathons hosted on the platform may set their own eligibility rules, including minimum ages. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at contact@syntaxready.com and we will delete it.
10.How we protect your data
All traffic to the site is encrypted in transit with HTTPS. Access to your records is enforced at the database level with row-level security, so one account cannot read another account’s data. Payment details are handled by Stripe, a certified payment processor, and never pass through our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep the amount of data we hold small and its handling boring.
11.International transfers
Our service providers operate globally, so your information may be stored or processed in countries other than your own, including the United States and the European Union. Wherever it is processed, this policy governs how it is treated.
12.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the platform changes. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. If a change meaningfully affects how we handle your data, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
13.Contact us
Questions about this policy, or about your data, go to contact@syntaxready.com. See also our Terms of Service.
